MONTICELLO, Ark. — The news today from the Gulf
South Conference office was good for the University of
Arkansas at Monticello softball team, as seniors Meredith
Heckel and Gemma Gibson were named to the 2008
All-GSC first team, while junior teammate Lindsey Randall
made the second team.

Monticello softball team is set to open play in the 2008
Gulf South Conference Championship Tournament on Friday, May
2 against nationally ranked No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville.

no losses over the past week, senior pitcher Kate Brady
has been named the Gulf South Conference West Division
Pitcher of the Week for the last week of the 2008 regular
season.

Season With Two Losses at Henderson State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The University of
Arkansas at Monticello baseball team saw its season
come to a close with two losses to Henderson State
on Saturday with final scores of 15-2 and 7-3.
Sunday’s series and season finale was cancelled due
to rain.

MAGNOLIA, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at
Monticello softball team scored 20 runs in two victories
over Southern Arkansas with final scores of 9-0 in the first
game and 11-9 in the second game.

Greer's Grand Slam Beats Henderson
State in Game One of Double Header Split |

MONTICELLO, Ark. — Junior Heather Greer
picked a good time to hit her first home run of the season
with a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning
to give the Blossoms a 4-0 win in the first game of a Gulf
South Conference double header with Henderson State. HSU won
the second game 6-0.

Club over the past weekend.
