BUISSON ADDS ANOTHER HONOR TO TROPHY CASE
NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

September 24, 2008
Contact: Brian Ramsey, UAM Sports Information

MONTICELLO – Sophomore quarterback Scott Buisson has been announced as the D2Football.com National Offensive Player of the Week.

To earn this week’s award, Buisson racked up 640 yards of total offense (424 passing, 216 rushing), while being responsible for seven UAM touchdowns in a 51-48 win over Henderson State this past Saturday. The 640 yards of total offense breaks a Gulf South Conference record of 591 (Marty Washington, West Alabama, 1993) and re-sets his own UAM record of 570 against Harding during the 2007 season.

Also a factor in the selection was his 20 consecutive passes completed, which ties a NCAA Division II single-game record.

In conjunction with the national honor, Buisson was also named the Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, marking the second time this season.

Over his 15-game career, Buisson has been named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week four times, deemed the 2007 GSC Freshman of the Year, named national player of the week twice and broke the UAM record for total yards of offense in a single game twice.
