MONTICELLO – Fourth-year head football coach
Gwaine Mathews is encouraging fans to wear green
clothing in hopes of creating a “Green Out” of
Convoy-Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium for Thursday night’s
Gulf South Conference game against West Georgia.
“We are off to our best start in years and are eyeing
the Gulf South Conference crown,” said Mathews. “Please
wear green, and show the South region how much support
and pride you have for the Weevils.”
The game is going to be shown live throughout eight
states of the South region of the United States as a
part of the Gulf South Conference-TV Live Game of the
Week package produced by Comcast Sports Southeast in
partnership with Cox Sports Television.
“Not only is this great for our fans across the region
to be able to see us play without having to travel a
long distance, but it also helps our recruiting
tremendously,” said Mathews. “Not only can our recruits
throughout the region watch us play, but it also gives
us, as coaches, an opportunity to prove to them that
they have a chance of playing on live television if they
decide to be a Weevil.”
In Monticello, the game will be available on Cablevision
channel 31 (Cox Sports Television). The game is also
available live on the radio at KHBM-FM 93.7, which will
be streamed live over the Internet at uamsports.com.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
