COTTON BLOSSOMS SIGN TEXAS GUARD

MONTICELLO, Ark. – UAM women’s basketball coach Tanya Ray has announced the signing of Jordan Goforth to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Blossoms next season.

The Plano, Texas native will graduate from Plano East High School this spring. She averages 13.5 points per game, shooting 43-percent from the field, 45-percent from three-point range, and 80-percent from the free throw line. In addition to her shooting skills Jordan averages six rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.4 steals per game for Coach Lagwenna Mingilton and the Panthers.

Jordan has been named to the First Team All-District in both the 09-10 and 10-11 seasons. She made First Team All-Region in 2010-11 after leading her team to a 26-8 record and a Bi-District Championship.

Jordan also played AAU ball for the Cy-Fair/Westside Platinum under Coach Shon Hill.

Coach Ray had this to say about Jordan, “We are extremely excited to have Jordan become a part of our Cotton Blossoms basketball family. She is a very talented player and will give us some needed size at the guard position. She is hard-nosed, and has the ability to score in a variety of ways. Jordan will be a critical piece to helping us get this program turned back in the right direction.”

Jordan is the daughter of Todd and Susan Goforth of Plano, Texas.
