University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletics

Russellville, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's basketball team picked up a second straight win at the GAC/NSIC Crossover Challenge over Minnesota Crookston, by a final score of 71-64.

 

• Derylton Hill:  23 points, 5 rebounds
• Karim Mawuenyega:  15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists
• Tyrin Jones:  14 points, 3 assists
• Cobe Goosby:  13 points, 7 rebounds
   

 

• Arkansas-Monticello surged ahead of the Golden Eagles to open the first half of play with a 23-10 lead over Minnesota Crookston, with Derylton Hill, and Tyrin Jones leading the way offensively.
• UAM finished off the opening half with a nine point advantage at 35-26, after a made lay-up from Ted Brisco.
  
   

• The Golden Eagles took over the lead with 14:36 left in the second half, at 37-36.
• The Weevils reclaimed the lead for good at 8:00 minutes remaining, after a back-and-forth battle between the two programs played out midway through the half.
• Cobe Goosby and Hill provided strong offensive performances down the stretch to close out the match-up as UAM won its' second straight game with a final score of 71-64.
  
   

• The Weevils will return to action next on Thursday, November 16 on the road in Shawnee, Oklahoma against Oklahoma Baptist with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m.
