RANDALL, TIPTON EARN ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC HONORS

MONTICELLO –
Senior Lindsey Randall and junior Becca Tipton have been selected to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District softball team.
 
Both were selected to the District Six second team and are the only representatives from the Gulf South Conference on either the first or second teams.
 
Randall (Keithville, La.) earns her second academic honor after being named to the GSC Honor Roll last season. Currently, she is majoring in exercise science with a cumulative 3.55 grade point average. She has already been awarded for her impressive play on the field, being named the 2009 GSC-West Player of the Year as well as All-GSC first team honors as a shortstop.
 
Tipton (Dermott, Ark.) also earns her second academic honor after being named to the GSC Honor Roll in 2008. Currently, she is majoring in health and physical education and sports a 3.38 cumulative GPA. On the field, she has also racked up awards, being named the 2007 GSC-West Freshman of the Year, along with All-GSC first team honors this season as an outfielder.
