The late Quentious Crews laid the foundation for the renaissance of the UAM football program in the late 1970s and early ‘80s.

Mr. Crews served as head football coach for three seasons (1975-77) and recruited most of the players who won the 1979 AIC football championship, UAM’s first conference football title in 12 years.

Mr. Crews was an outstanding athlete at UAM (then Arkansas A&M) in the 1950s, earning first team All-AIC and honorable mention All-America honors from the NAIA in 1955. He set a single-game receiving record (since broken) of 12 receptions for 206 yards and three touchdowns vs. Henderson State in 1955.
