@WEEVILFOOTBALL FALLS ON THE ROAD AGAINST SOUTHEASTERN

Durant, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team was taken down by the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon on the road by a final score of 41-21.

  • UAM falls to 2-2 (2-2 GAC) overall this season.
  • Southeastern OK State improves to 4-0 (4-0 GAC) on the year.

  • The Savage Storm struck first late in the opening quarter of play with a one yard touchdown run for the 7-0 lead.
  • Southeastern tacked on to the lead with a short field goal to end the first quarter with a 10-0 advantage over the Weevils.

  • UAM rallied back early in the second quarter however as Cole Sears found Warren Leapheart for the one yard touchdown through the air to cut the SE lead to just 10-7.
  • The Savage Storm answered back unfortunately late in the first half with a 54 yard punt returned for a touchdown to put the half time score at 17-7 in favor of Southeastern.

  • Despite an early third quarter passing touchdown by the Savage Storm, UAM was not done as Ralph Singleton rushed for 23 yards into the end-zone to cut into the Southeastern lead at 24-14 with 09:17 left in the period. 
  • SE would yet again score late in the quarter through the air to increase its lead out to 31-14 over Arkansas-Monticello.

  • Midway through the final quarter of play, Imani Riley was able to punch in a score on the ground from 10 yards out to put the score at 34-21 in favor of Southeastern. 
  • The Savage Storm ultimately sealed off the game however with a 21 yard passing touchdown to take the game over UAM, 41-21.

  • Imani Riley:  11 carries, 93 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown
  • Cole Sears: 10 carries, and 32 rushing yards
  • Austin Harris:  two receptions, and 44 receiving yards
  • Gabe Brace:  nine total tackles, and 0.5 tackle for loss
  • Anthony Walker:  seven total tackles, and 1.5 total sacks
  • Christian Jefferson:  eight total tackles, and one interception

  • Arkansas-Monticello will once again be on the road in week five as UAM will face Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas on Saturday, September 30 with kick-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
