The Bulldogs took an early lead three plays into the game's opening possession on a 61-yard screen pass from Marc Evans to D.J. Jones for a touchdown. SWOSU went for two and failed, which allowed UAM (0-2, 0-2 GAC) to take a 7-6 lead on the next possession after senior quarterback Hunter Leppert hooked up with junior Trevon Smith for a 60-yard score and junior kicker Jamie McGee made the extra point.
