MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team will hit the road for the second straight week in its next game of the 2016 season, as the Weevils face the #15 nationally ranked Reddies of Henderson State this Saturday, October 15 in a Great American Conference match-up.

80TH ALL-TIME MEETING
Saturday's match-up with Henderson State University is the 80th all-time meeting between the Weevils and Reddies on the gridiron, representing the second-most played opponent in school history, second only to Southern Arkansas (90). The Reddies hold a mult-year winning streak against UAM as the Weevils last victory over Henderson State, 51-48, came during the 2008 season. The overall series is currently led by HSU at 46-31-2.
SCOUTING THE REDDIES
The Reddies enter week seven ranked #15 nationally and currently T-2nd in the Great American Conference. HSU comes into the week following a loss to #8 Harding University at home, by a score of 35-3. Leading the Reddies offensively is redshirt-freshman running-back Jeremy Wilson who has totaled 396 yards on the ground this season along with six rushing touchdowns. Defensively HSU is led by sophomore linebacker Cameron Sonnier with 51 total tackles (7.0 TFL) on the year, along with 1.0 sack, and one forced fumble. Henderson State also ranks second in the GAC in points allowed per game at 18.8 as well.
#1 WIDE RECEIVER
Junior Jalen Tolliver continues to produce at a high level as he sits at the top of several Great American Conference statistical categories as he enters week seven currently ranked number one in the conference in total receiving yards (698), receptions per game (7.3), receiving yards per game (116.3), and total receiving touchdowns (9). Tolliver is also ranked in the top 15 in various categories nationally throughout NCAA Division II, as he is tied for fourth in receiving touchdowns, 10th overall in total receiving yards, and 12th in receiving yards per game.
LAST TIME OUT
The Weevils are coming off a 31-17 defeat against Southern Nazarene University last Saturday afternoon in Bethany, Oklahoma. The Crimson Storm scored first in the match-up on its opening drive of the game to set the pace for the reast of the contest. Despite cutting the SNU lead down to only seven points midway through the fourth quarter at 24-17, the Crimson Storm scored with just 1:33 remaining in the game to seal the victory for Southern Nazarene. The Weevils did however produce its best rushing game of the 2016 season with 217 yards on the ground.

Following Saturday's away contest against the #15 nationally ranked Reddies of Henderson State, the Weevils return home to host the Tigers of East Central in a Great American Conference match-up at WCL Cotton Boll Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 3 p.m. This contest, scheduled for October 22nd will also be homecoming for the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
