@WEEVILFOOTBALL TO FACE OKLAHOMA BAPTIST IN SHAWNEE

MONTICELLO —
 The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team will look to continue its winning ways this weekend as the Weevils face Oklahoma Baptist in a GAC match-up on Saturday, October 14 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Crain Family Stadium in Shawnee. The game can be heard on the UAM Sports Network at KHBM-FM 93.7 in Monticello, watched online and followed with live stats at www.UAMsports.com/coverage.aspx.

UAM VS. OBU  |  HISTORY
The match-up between UAM and the Bison this Saturday, will only be the third ever meeting between these two programs on the gridiron. Oklahoma Baptist reinstated its football program in 2013, following a 73-year hiatus, and OBU finished 2-9 overall in 2015, the first year as a Great American Conference member. The first ever meeting saw the Bison take down the Weevils in Shawnee, Oklahoma 56-28, and the following year UAM was able to get revenage and defeat OBU 31-27 in Monticello.

TOLLIVER CONTINUES TO BREAK RECORDS
Senior wide receiver Jalen Tolliver continued to put up incredible numbers in week six against ATU as he totaled nine catches for 111 yards with two receiving touchdowns, and added one rushing touchdown to his stat line as well. Tolliver increased his career receiving yards total to 2,742 to become the UAM all-time receiving yards leader, breaking the previous record held by Anthony Giovingo (1995-1998). Jalen also earned himself Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Weevils to the win over Tech at home as well.

LAST TIME OUT
The Weevils took down #24 ranked Arkansas Tech at home in week six by a final score of 46-45. Cole Sears totaled 365 passing yards for three touchdowns, and added one rushing score as well. Jalen Tolliver had another big game with nine catches for 111 yards, two receiving touchdowns, and added one rushing touchdown as well. Defensively Christian Jefferson led the way with seven tackles on the day. Justin Akins added five tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss, and one sack as well. Will Jennings and Deon Knox each recorded five tackles also. UAM drove down the field, and with 1:44 left in the game score the go ahead TD to take the win over ATU.

SCOUTING THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist is led on the offensive side of the ball by running-back Isaiah Mallory with 432 rushing yards this season on 86 total carries and four touchdowns. Preston Haire anchors the offense as the starting quarterback with 1,102 total yards, nine passing touchdowns, and four interceptions. Defensively the program is led by Josh Arnold with 45 overall tackles, and one tackle for a loss. Joshua Redmond has contributed 45 tackles also on the year with 1.0 sack. Three players are currently tied with one interception a piece, and four players are tied with one sack a piece as well.

UP NEXT
The Weevils will next take on the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene, on Saturday, October 21 in Monticello, Arkansas with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside WCL Cotton Boll Stadium. Week eight for UAM will also be homecoming for Arkansas-Monticello.
