@WEEVILFOOTBALL TO FACE #24 ARKANSAS TECH AT HOME SATURDAY

MONTICELLO —
 The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team will prepare to face #24 ranked Arkansas Tech this Saturday as the two programs meet in a Great American Conference battle this Saturday, October 7 in Monticello, Arkansas.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at WCL Cotton Boll Stadium. The game can be heard on the UAM Sports Network at KHBM-FM 93.7 in Monticello, watched online and followed with live stats at www.UAMsports.com/coverage.aspx.

PINK OUT
Saturday's match-up will be featured as a Pink Out game, where the Student Engagement committee will be selling put in cups for a $1 during tailgating (11am-3pm) to place in the fence (creating a breast cancer awareness ribbon) at the stadium across from the pond. All proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. There will also be free pink out shirts at tailgating as well. The shirts are sponsored by Student Programs and Activities and Alumni Affairs. UAM Football players will also be wearing pink ribbon stickers on the back of their helmets during the month of October as well. 

UAM VS. ATU | HISTORY
The meeting between the Weevils and the Wonder Boys will be the 75th all-time match-up between these two football programs in a rivalry that first began all the way back in 1920. Arkansas Tech currently leads the overall series 46-25-3, and holds the series lead for games played in Monticello at 17-14-1 overall. UAM and ATU have traded victories since becoming members of the Great American Conference in 2011, with each squad able to defend their own home turf during that time span, which included a dominat 34-0 win for the Weevils in 2013. A season ago, the Wonder Boys took down the Weevils in Russellville, by a score of 38-31.

TOLLIVER BREAKS RECORDS
Senior wide receiver Jalen Tolliver had an outstanding performance a week ago on the road at Harding University, where despite the UAM loss, recording record breaking numbers. Tolliver finished the night with 12 catches for 245 yards, and 5 total receiving touchdowns. The receiving yardage was the most by a UAM Football senior in Weevil history, but the 5 receiving touchdowns was the most by any UAM player in the history of the program as well, with the previous record at 4. Jalen also became the career record holder in receiving touchdowns as his total is now 30 overall, breaking the UAM Football record of 29, previous held by Hubert Helfin (1949-52).

LAST TIME OUT
Arkansas-Monticello was downed on the road in Searcy, Arkansas by Harding University by a final score of 56-46. HU totaled 474 yards rushing in the match-up as the Bisons were able to pull away from the Weevils despite a great offensive attack from UAM. Senior wide-receiver Jalen Tolliver recorded 245 yards receiving on the day on 12 catches, and a UAM single game record five receiving touchdowns as well. Cole Sears totaled 338 yards passing along with five touchdown passes also. Defensively the Weevils were led by Wesley Williams with 13 tackles and Gabe Brace who contributed 11 overall tackles.

SCOUTING THE WONDER BOYS
Arkansas Tech is led on offense by quarterback Ty Reasnor who has totaled 1,044 passing yards on the year with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. Bryan Allen anchors the ground game of the Wonder Boys with 304 rushing yards and four rushing TD's. Jakcob Dean is the squads number one receiver with 29 catches for 348 yards and one receiving touchdown. The ATU defense is led by Kj Reid with 42 overall tackles, with 1.5 sacks, three fumbles recovered and one forced fumble. Seth Culp also has 41 total tackles with 2.5 sacks on the year, and 3.5 tackles for a loss.

UP NEXT
UAM will next look to face the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist on the road in Shawnee, Oklahoma on October 14, with kick-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m. inside Crain Stadium at Hurt Complex. The Weevils defeated OBU a season ago in Monticello, 31-27.
