MONTICELLO — The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team will take on the Reddies of Henderson State this weekend, Saturday, November 4 in Monticello, Arkansas.
Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at WCL Cotton Boll Stadium Stadium on the campus of UAM. Saturday will also be senior day for the Weevils as this is the last home match-up of the 2017 season. UAM VS. HSU | HISTORY
Saturday's match-up against Henderson State University is the 81st all-time meeting between the Weevils and Reddies on the gridiron, representing the second-most played opponent in school history, second only to Southern Arkansas (90). The Reddies have defeated UAM in seven straight previous match-ups,as the Weevils last victory over Henderson State, 51-48, came during the 2008 season. The overall series is currently led by HSU at 47-31-2.
AT THE TOP
UAM currently ranks first overall in the Great American Conference as a team in total offense per game at 472.3 yards per match-up. Jalen Tolliver continues to rank at the top of the GAC as well leading in total receptions (54), receiving yards (888), receiving touchdowns (12), and receiving yards per game (98.7). Cole Sears leads the conference in total offensive production with his combined passing and rushing stats also. Jeremy Jackson continues to lead the GAC in passes defended with 15 overall as well.
SCOUTING THE REDDIES
Henderson State enters the week coming off a 36-30 victory at home over Southern Arkansas University. HSU is led offensively by dual threat quarterback Andrew Black as he has totaled 286 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns on the year. Black also has recorded 559 passing yards and three passing TD's as well. Redshirt freshman Blake Faulk is the leading running back with 367 rushing yards this season on 66 carries and three rushing touchdowns.
Defensively the Reddies are anchored by Sheldon Watson with 50 total tackles, 2.5 of which have been for a loss. Watson is also the leader in total interceptions with four, and has also recorded one forced fumble, and has broken up three total passes.
LAST TIME OUT
The Weevils were defeated by the Tigers of Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia a week ago, 55-21. UAM only trailed 20-14 at the half in this contest, but OBU was just too much handle in the second half, outscoring UAM, 35-7. Jalen Tolliver recorded yet another big game with five catches for 115 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Cole Sears also turned in a solid stat sheet with 377 total yards passing, and two passing touch- downs as well. On the defensive side of the ball UAM was led by Christian Jefferson with nine tackles, and Jeremy Jackson recorded his second interception of the season.

The Weevils will face arch rival Southern Arkansas University in the Battle of the Timberlands, in what will be the final regular season match-up of 2017 on November 11, 2017 in Magnolia, Arkansas, inside Wilkins Stadium at Rip Powell Field, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
