THE MATCHUP
Arkansas-Monticello and Harding have been squaring-off since 1960. This will be the 55th meeting between the two teams. Harding leads the all-time series, 30-24. Currently, the Bisons are riding an eight-game winning streak against the Boll Weevils.

LAST MEETING
Last season, UAM and HU met in Monticello on September 29, 2018. The Bisons won that contest, 47-21. Harding scored 31 unanswered points to begin the contest. The Boll Weevils first score was late in the second quarter. Despite the loss, receivers Jeremy Hampton and DeAndre Washington both had touchdowns. Hampton tallied two receptions; both for TD's while, Washington had three catches for 47 yards and a TD.

UAM's LAST WIN OVER HARDING
For UAM's last win over the Bisons, we have to go back to 2009. UAM won that contest, 44-17. In 2009, the Great American Conference was not even a thing yet as UAM was in the Gulf South Conference. The Boll Weevils head coach was Gwaine Mathews and Northwest Missouri State was en route to winning its third Division II Football National Championship.

LAST WEEK FOR UAM
UAM won its season opener against Arkansas Tech at home in front of a crowd of over 1,800, 26-23, in an overtime thriller. In a back-and-forth contest, UAM prevailed after Josh Marini drilled a 23-yard game-winning field goal to win it. Arkansas-Monticello

BOLL WEEVILS STOPPING THE LOSING STREAK
Arkansas-Monticello's season-opening win marked the first time it has opened the year with a victory since 2012. That season, UAM defeated the College of Faith, 78-0, to start the campaign.

30 WINS FOR THE COACH
With the week one win over the Wonder Boys, Head Coach Hud Jackson now has 30 wins as UAM's head football coach. He is now fourth all-time in UAM football history in coaching wins. Third on the list is none-other than Willis "Convoy" Leslie, who has 34 career victories.

OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS
Last week, Caleb Canady, C.J. Parham, and Devontae Dean led UAM offensively. Canady finished the game 19-of-35 for 287 yards in the air and two TD's. Parham put in a great bid for Offensive Player of the Week snagging 8 catches fro 164 yards and a touchdown. Dean led the ground game with 21 carries for 74 yards and a touchdown.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS
Christian Jefferson, Jonathan Scott and Kerenzo Credit turned-in solid games on the defensive side of the ball for the Boll Weevils. Jefferson led the team in tackles with 12 and recorded a pass breakup and a forced fumble. Scott was second on the team in total tackles tallying nine. He also had three pass breakups. Credit had some late-game heroics to go along with his three tackles and three pass breakups. On third-and-five for ATU, Credit pulled down an interception in the endzone holding ATU scoreless in its overtime possession, allowing UAM to kick its game-winning field goal.

CARDIAC KICKER
Josh Marini's game-winner in overtime last week seemed to be familiar for the UAM faithful. It was the second time in three games he had been called on to kick a game-winning field goal. Last season, he sent UAM to the Corsicana Bowl with his 34-yard game-winner over Southern Arkansas.

PINNING THEM DEEP
Marini was also solid when punting last week. He had eight punts for 287 yards and averaged 35.9 yards per punt. He had a long punt of 52 yards and pinned ATU deep inside its own 20 five times.

LOOKING FOR THE UPSET
With its matchup against No. 22 Harding this week, UAM will be looking for its first win over a ranked opponent since 2017. That season, the Boll Weevils upset No. 24 Arkansas Tech at home, 46-45.

ON THE SURFACE
Saturday will be UAM's first game this season on turf. Last year, the Boll Weevils were 3-2 on artificial turf.

SCOUTING HARDING
No. 22 Harding may have lost last week, but defensively, it was stout. It held No. 6 Ouachita Baptist to 266 yards of total offense, which was second best in the GAC. The final score of that matchup was, 16-14, as OU got the win. Harding's issue last week was turnovers. The Bisons Preston Paden was just 2-of-5 for 96 yards and he threw three picks. On the ground, HU rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown. Tristan Tucker had seven carries for 93 yards and a TD.

THE POLLS
Despite the loss last week, Harding fell four spots in the latest American Football Coaches Association Poll to No. 22. In week one, the Bisons were 18th.

QUITE THE OPENER
Harding and Ouachita got off to one of the strangest starts in the GAC last week. Paden threw an 85-yard touchdown pass just one-minute and 40 seconds into the contest. For Paden, it was just one of his two completions on the day. After that, neither team would score another touchdown until the last five minutes of the third quarter. Ouachita eventually went on to win after Gabe Goodman hit a 38-yard field goal in the final two minutes of the contest

DON'T GET ALL DEFENSIVE
Defense was the story for Harding in week one. The Bisons surrendered just one touchdown to Ouachita Baptist and got to Brayden Brazeal for two sacks.
