Box Score ALVA, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team was shut out at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma Saturday evening, 28-0. Turnovers were the Weevils downfall as they gave up the ball three times in the loss. Â

UAM totaled 271 yards in the contest, but turnovers proved to be the problem for the Weevils. Arkansas at Monticello threw three interceptions and lost one fumble on its way to a 28-0 loss at NWOSU. Â

Demilon Brown, who entered later in the contest, was 7-of-12 in the air for 52 yards. On the ground, he led UAM performers with 11 rushes for 86 yards. Â

Another offensive standout was
Alex Day, who rushed for 61 yards on 11 attempts posting an average of 5.5 yards per carry. He also had one of UAM's longest rushes this season of 23 yards.Â

On defense,
Gabe Brace and
Kelvin Brown were tops in tackles with Brace totaling nine and Brown adding eight. Â

Chase Crosby,
Stephen King and
Michael Jenkins helped to get to the quarterback, with Crosby adding 1.5 sacks, King recording 1.0 and Jenkins registering the 0.5 sack. Â

The Rangers scored six points in the first quarter, 12 in the second, seven in the third and a field goal in the fourth en route to a 28-0 victory.Â

With the loss, the Weevils fall to 2-2, while Northwestern Oklahoma State improves to 2-2. UAM will remain one-win shy of 400 in program history sitting at 399.Â
