MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium at 2 p.m. The Weevils are looking to improve to 3-2 on the season with back-to-back victories.

WALK OF CHAMPIONS
At 11:30 a.m., the traditional Weevil Walk of Champions will take place on Lakeshore Dr. in the midst of tailgating. The UAM band, color guard, cheer squad, mascots, and football team will process through a crowd of campus and community supporters ready to cheer them to victory over SWOSU.
ENTRANCES
The home and visitor gates will be open to all fans to enter or purchase tickets.
RESTROOMS
Steelman Field House will be accessible through the front doors prior to the event. During the game the visitor's side entrance to Steelman will be locked.
Restrooms accessed outside the Lassiter Indoor Practice Facility will be open before and during the game.
PARKING
Lakeshore Dr. is shutdown four hours prior to the game.
No parking is available in front of Steelman Field House.
VIP parking is located at Harris Hall. Proper credential are required.
Handicapped parking is available at Harris Hall and the Scogin Dr. lot.
There will be hospitality carts available before and after the game.

The Matchup
UAM hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State for a matchup with the Bulldogs at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium in Monticello, Ark. Saturday. It will be the 10th meeting between the two teams in their history dating back to when UAM joined the GAC in 2011. The Weevils trail the Bulldogs in the all-time series 4-5. UAM holds a 4-1 advantage at home in the series over SWOSU. In the Weevils home game against the Bulldogs, UAM beat the SWOSU 44-9 in 2019.
Coaching Matchup
UAM head football Coach Hud Jackson is now 36-67 in his UAM coaching career after getting off to a 2-2 start in the season. His counterpart will be Chet Pobolish who is in his 3rd year at Southwestern Oklahoma State with a 3-12 record.
Last Meeting
The last time these two teams met was on September 21, 2019 at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium. The Weevils rolled past SWOSU 44-9. After trailing 3-0 at the end of the first quarter, UAM scored 17 unanswered points in the second quarter to hold the lead at the half. That lead was cut to 17-9 in the third quarter before the Weevils ran away from the Bulldogs scoring 27-staight to close the game. UAM pounded the rock on offense rushing for 348 yards and averaging 6.4 yards per carry in the contest. Devontae Dean led the ground attack with 121 rushing yards while Demilon Brown, Logan Penn and Stephen King each found the end zone. The Weevils' defense shutdown the Bulldogs offense with three interceptions including one returned 34 yards for a touchdown by TJ Brumfield.
About Last Week
UAM returned to the win column by defeating Arkansas Tech 27-20 in Russellville, Ark. The Weevils entered the fourth quarter tied 13-13 with the Wonder Boys before taking the lead on a 21-yard touchdown run by Brown. The UAM defense stepped up late in the fourth quarter to ultimately be the difference in the game thanks to a 77-yard interception returned for a touchdown by Gregg Hooks that put UAM up 27-13. Brown compiled 274 yards of offense rushing for 113 and two touchdowns while going 16-of-27 for 161 yards through the air. Dean accounted for the other offensive touchdown for the Weevils while adding 62 yards on the ground.
Weevil Way on Offense
UAM ranks seventh in total offense and tied for seventh in scoring in the GAC averaging 374.0 yards and 23.8 points per game. The passing game leads the way for the Weevils as they rate seventh in the conference with 239.5 yards per contest through the air while the ground game ranks ninth averaging 134.5 yards per game.
What Can Brown Do For You?
Quarterback Demilon Brown carries the load for UAM on offense averaging 299.3 total yards per game which ranks fourth in the GAC. He has tallied an average of 235.7 yards through the air and 63.5 yards on the ground through four contests so far this season. He rates seventh in the conference in passing yards per game and tied for seventh with six passing touchdowns. In total, Brown has compiled 11 touchdowns on the season with six through the air and five on the ground.
Air Raid Weapons
Three Weevils have more than 100 yards receiving through three games this season. Senior wide receiver C.J. Parham leads the way for UAM with 352 yards and three touchdowns on 26 receptions which ranks him fifth in the GAC in yards, third in catches and tied for seventh in touchdowns. Fellow senior tight end DeAndre Washington has 15 receptions for 216 yards and two touchdowns and sophomore wide receiver LaCedric Smith has posted 180 yards and one score on 13 catches.
Weevils Wrapping Up
Defensively, the 10 different Weevils have registered double-digit total tackles through the first four contests. Damarous White leads the way with 22 total tackles including one tackle for loss. The most disruptive Weevil in the backfield has been Tahji Gilbert who leads the team with 4.0 tackles for loss.
Defending the Pass
Four players have collected an interception so far this season for UAM. DeQuan Street leads the secondary with two picks to go along with one pass breakup. Gregg Hooks, Jonathan Scott and Michael McCorvey each have one interception while Hooks is the only one to with a pick-six on his 77-yard return against ATU.
Scouting the Bulldogs
Southwestern Oklahoma State is 0-4 on the season with losses to Henderson State, Southern Arkansas, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Oklahoma Baptist. Offensively, the Bulldogs rank tied for 7th in the GAC in scoring and 5th total yards averaging 23.8 points and 415.0 yards per game. On defense, SWOSU is surrendering the ninth most points per contest in the conference at 35.3 points per game and ranks ninth in total defense allowing 432.3 yards per contest.
Bulldog Air Attack
The Bulldogs lead the GAC in passing averaging 314.5 yards per game through the air. SWOSU has scored 11 passing touchdowns on the season which ranks fourth in the league. Bulldog quarterback Tanner Griffin leads the conference in passing yards per game averaging 335.7 in three contests this season. Despite missing one game, Griffin has tallied 1,007 passing yards and eight touchdown through the air. The top receiving targets for the Bulldogs each rank in the top 10 of the GAC in receiving yards per game. Justin Bailey and Torin Justice have combined for 562 yards and five touchdowns on 33 catches through four games this season.
Top Defenders for SWOSU
Fourteen players lead the Bulldogs defense registering double-digit total tackles so far this season. Orlando Brown leads the way with 31 including one tackle for loss. The SWOSU defense has been disruptive in the backfield with 11 different players contributing for tackles for loss led by Nate Burnard with 3.0 TFL.
Bulldogs or Ball Hawks
As a defense, SWOSU has hauled in three interceptions and batted down 11 passes this season. Derrius Franklin leads the Bulldogs secondary with two interceptions and one pass break up.
Protection Problem
SWOSU has allowed the second-most quarterback sacks in the conference this season allowing 10 through four games.
