DURANT, OK. – Going head on into the eye of the storm, the Southeastern Oklahoma State University football team will host the University of Arkansas at Monticello this weekend. The contest will be held Saturday October 30th with kickoff set for 2 p.m. UAM looks to improve their overall record to 5-4 after falling to Harding University.

The Matchup
The calm before the storm. After falling to Harding University last weekend the Weevils look to improve against the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm. The Weevils look to collect their 5th win while the Savage Storm look to collect their 7th. With both teams coming from a loss last weekend it is looking to be a real nail-biter.
Last Meeting
The last time these two teams met was on October 12th 2019. The Weevils were triumphant in this contest, defeating the Savage Storm by a score of 9-7. The Weevil defense really shined in this game keeping the opposing Storm to only one touchdown the entire game. With confidence and the will to win let's see if the Weevils can take another from from the Storm this upcoming Saturday.
About Last Week
The Weevils struggled to find their ground as they lost to #4 Harding University (HU) on Saturday by a score of 64-7. HU had a 14-7 lead after one quarter of action on a rushing touchdowns by Cole Chancey, as well as a punt return by Orlando Henley. UAM responded with a 9 yard passing touchdown to C.J. Parham. HU tacked on to their lead in the second quarter with three more touchdowns and a safety. The three rushing touchdowns totalled 16 yards. Despite their best efforts, the Weevils couldn't break the HU defense. The third and fourth quarters weren't much differnt as Harding would score two more touchdowns in each. The four were three rushing touchdowns and an interception to score their final points. The rushing touchdowns were all 1 yard rushes for Blake Delacruz, Will Fitzhugh, and Cloby Clark. The final interception score was for a 100 yard return. Demilon Brown paced the Weevils on the ground, racking up 26 rushing yards. C.J. Parham led the way in the receiving category as he tallied 8 catches for 105 yards.
Winners of the One Possession Games
UAM has been masterful at winning close games this season as three of the four Weevils' victories have been decided by one possession.
Upset Incoming?
UAM Football is looking to take down Southeastern Oklahoma State University who is 6-2 this season. The Weevils sit two games behind from the Savage Storm this season but look to cut it down one. With the energy building up from last weekends loss the Wevils are ready to fight!
Demilon Brown Leads the Charge
Demilon Brown has been the catalyst for the UAM offense as he paces the team with 214 passing yards per game and has used his elusiveness in the pocket to scamper for 75 yards per contest.
Receiving Core
The Weevils are led by a trio of receivers. Senior wide receiver C.J. Parham leads the way for UAM with 577 yards and f touchdowns on the season. Parham ranks seventh in the conference in receiving yards and total receptions (34) Fellow senior tight end DeAndre Washington has 25 receptions for 332 yards and three touchdowns, while sophomore wide receiver LaCedric Smith has posted 301 yards and one score on 18 catches.
Defensive Depth
Defensively, 17 different Weevils have registered double-digit total tackles this season with eight UAM athletes already surpassing 20 tackles. Kaytron Allen has tallied a team-leading 44 tackles.
Defending the Pass
Six players have collected an interception so far this season for UAM. DeQuan Street leads the secondary with two picks to go along with one pass breakup. Kaytron Allen and Greg Hooks each have one interception and combined for six pass breakups.
Scouting the SAVAGE storm
Southeastern Oklahoma State is 6-2 on the season. Offensively, the Savage Storm is ranked 4th in the GAC in scoring and 3rd in total yards averaging 35 points and 413.8 yards per game. On defense, SEOSU is surrendering 24.1 points per game, while giving up 349.4 yards per contest.
SEOSU Passing Game
The Savage Storm will rely heavily on the passing game as SEOSU ranks third in the conference in passing yards per game with 271.5 yards. Daulton Hatley leads the way for the Storm with 265.1 yards per game. Hatley ranks fourth in the GAC for yards per game.

UAM stays home to take on East Central University on Nov. 6th. The showdown between the Weevils and the Tigers is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
