UAM Finishes Eighth at GAC Championships

The UAM Men’s Golf team finished eighth out of 10 teams at the GAC Men’s Golf Championships Tuesday.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -
The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's golf team finished eighth out of 10 teams at the Great American Conference Men's Golf Championships Tuesday. The three-round tournament was hosted at the Hot Springs Country Club Monday and Tuesday.

UAM posted three-round total of 915 as a team to place eighth in the tournament.

Carson Garner led the Weevils with a top-10 finish landing in a tie for ninth after shooting 72 (E), 74 (+2) and 73 (+1) for a total of 219.

The next finisher for UAM was Tyler Quinn who posted rounds of 79 (+7), 73 (+1) and 80 (+2) totaling 232 through three rounds to tie for 35th.

Julian Audibert followed finishing in a tie for 40th after recording a 54-hole total of 235 on rounds of 77 (+5), 78 (+6) and 80 (+8).

Rounding out the group for the Weevils were Andrew Pearson and William Sumner who each tied for 43rd shooting a tournament total of 237. Meanwhile, the duo was named Distinguished Scholar Athletes by the GAC Tuesday.
