Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team played their eighth game of the 2023 season on Saturday afternoon when the Boll Weevils hosted Great American Conference member Henderson State University. UAM came out of the contest with a 42-14 loss to the Reddies.
Henderson State was the first to score and held on to the lead for the remainder of the game, seeing their offense grow a big lead over UAM before the Boll Weevils began to put points of their own on the board. The Arkansas-Monticello offense would put up only 251 total offensive yards in the match-up.
Jordan Mansfield contributed the lone offensive touchdown on the game for the Weevils, scoring on a 42-yard reception in the fourth quarter.
Buddy Taylor gave a 14-32 performance with 234 passing yards.
Arlie Lee led UAM in receiving for three receptions and 92 total yards, with the longest being a 34-yarder.
Jordan Mansfield was close behind with five receptions for 82 total yards. On the ground, Tristan Smith once again led the Boll Weevils, having nine carries for a net total of 34 yards.
Defensively,
Jakerrias Scott stood above the rest with six total tackles and three solo stops on the game.
Zachary Grisotti led the day in extra point attempts, going 2-2.

- 13:12 – HSU | Cayden Davis scored on a 74-yard reception pass to give the Reddies a two touchdown lead.
- 08:16 – HSU | Andrew Edwards rushed two yards into the Boll Weevil endzone.
- 00:39 – HSU | Fredrick O'Donald extends the Reddie lead with a 13-yard reception to head into the half with a 28-0 advantage.
Fourth Quarter
- 14:53 – UAM | Jordan Mansfield snagged a 42-yard pass from Buddy Taylor to give UAM their first points of the game.
- 07:14 – HSU | Micah Greene gave the Reddies another reception touchdown to push HSU ahead 35-7.
- 03:35 – UAM | Alfernee Hankins forced a Henderson fumble and Brycen Leblanc recovered it and scored for a 99-yard fumble return. Leblanc now holds the UAM record for the longest fumble return, passing John Tatum, who scored a 98-yard return touchdown against rival Southern Arkansas in 1978.
- 00:41 – HSU | Korien Burrell gave Henderson State a final touchdown, rushing three yards into the Boll Weevil Endzone.
