SHAWNEE, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevil Football Team traveled to Shawnee, Oklahoma to take on conference member Oklahoma Baptist University for the 9th game of the 2023 season. Kickoff for the game is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Boll Weevils are coming off a painful 42-14 loss at home to Henderson State University last weekend. UAM currently ranks first in the Great American Conference in passing offense and seventh in pass efficiency behind the arm of quarterback Buddy Taylor, who threw for 234 yards with and an efficiency rating of 102.99 last weekend.
The top receiver for the Weevils is Isaiah Cross who ranks third in the GAC in both total receiving yard and receptions per game, following his two reception, 33-yard game last weekend.
UAM sits sixth in the GAC in scoring points per contest, falling behind Southern Nazarene, and also sixth in total yards per game with an average of 368.5.
Defensively, the Weevils are surrendering 34 points and 379.5 yards per contest. The leading tackler for the Weevils is Damarous White, who has 39 total tackles, with 25 solo stops.

THE MATCHUP
UAM sits ahead in the all-time series, 4-3 against Oklahoma Baptist University since the teams first met in 2015. The Weevils are 1-3 against the Bison on the road, looking to take down OBU in Shawnee for the first time since the 2017 season.
LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello won at home to OBU in 2022 in a 40-17 match-up. The Weevil defense allowed the Bison offense to score first, but refused to let them gain any more momentum until the fourth quarter, giving up two total touchdowns and one field goal. The Boll Weevil offense was explosive, outscoring Oklahoma Baptist 20-7 in the first quarter, and 20-3 in the second. UAM had 360 total yards on offense.

Demilon Brown passed for 103 yards with a completion rate of 8-for-22.
Jonero Scott led UAM in the running game, rushing for a net total of 130 yards on 21 attempts.
Isaiah Cross led the Weevil receiving core as he pulled in two passes for 38 yards.
