Box Score DURANT, Okla. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team played their sixth game of the 2023 season on Saturday evening when the Boll Weevils traveled to Great American Conference foe Southeastern Oklahoma State University. UAM came out of the contest with a final score of 22-21, losing on the final play of the ball game.

Arkansas-Monticello was in control for majority of the game, seeing their offense grow an early lead, but slowed down on production as the game continued. The offense would put up 322 total offensive yards in the match-up. Buddy Taylor contributed two touchdowns on the game, connecting with LaCedric Smith for one and rushing the other.

Taylor gave a 21-25 performance with 224 passing yards. Nick Howard led UAM in receiving for eight receptions and 66 total yards, with the longest being a 18-yarder. On the ground, Taylor led the Boll Weevils with nine carries for a net total of 31 yards.

Defensively, Michael McCorvey stood above the rest with 11 total tackles and three solo stops on the game.

Zachary Grisotti led the day in extra point attempts, going 1-1.

Boll Weevil Head Coach Hud Jackson had this to say after the game: "Tough loss. Gut wrenching. Guys played really hard. We overcame a lot in the game to give ourselves a chance. We have to finish. Big game this week. We have to push forward. Eat'em up!"

Fourth Quarter

• 04:12 – SEO | Marquis Gray scores his second reception touchdown of the game on a 28-yard catch.
• 00:00 – SEO | Gray makes a catch on the final play of the game to give Southeastern the win over the Boll Weevils.

Up Next 
The Weevils travel to Russellville, Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 14 to take on in-state Great American Conference member Arkansas Tech University. Kick off is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
