MAGNOLIA, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevil Football Team travels to Magnolia, Arkansas on Saturday to take on rival Souther Arkansas University for the final game of the 2023 season. Kick-off for the game is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Boll Weevils are coming off another unfortunate loss to the Crimson Storm of Southern Nazarene University on Senior Day last weekend. UAM looks to bounce back and finish the final game of the season with a win over their long time rival, the Muleriders.

THE MATCHUP
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Football team travels to Magnolia, Arkansas this Saturday to take on in-state Great American Conference rival Southern Arkansas University to compete in the annual Battle of the Timberlands game.
UAM sits behind in the all-time series, 37-59-1 against Southern Arkansas since the teams met for the very first time in 1913. The Weevils are 18-43 against the Muleriders on the road, as they look to take down SAU, and claim back the trophy for the first time since 2021. The Weevils won that game 73-37 in Magnolia.
LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost at home in 2022 to the Muleriders last year, with a final score of 20-7. The Weevils had 345 total yards on offense and one touchdown on the game.
Quarterback Edwin Kleinpeter tossed the only Boll Weevil touchdown of the game to Isaiah Cross. Kleinpeter threw for a total 231 yards, with a 17-27 performance on the afternoon.
Jordan Mansfield led the Weevil receiving core, bringing in five receptions and 114 total yards. Isaiah Cross had 48 receiving yards of his own over four completions and a touchdown.
