MONTICELLO, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevil Football Team is set to host Great American Conference foe Ouachita Baptist University on Saturday, September 23. This weekend's game will be UAM Faculty and Staff appreciation Day, sponsored by Maxwell Hardwood Flooring.

The Boll Weevils are coming off a tough 59-19 loss on the road against GAC powerhouse Harding University last weekend. UAM currently ranks first in the Great American Conference in passing offense and fifth in pass efficiency behind the arm of quarterback Demilon Brown, who threw for 183 yards passing and an efficiency rating of 102.1 last weekend. Brown is also fourth in the conference in total offense with 868 yards on the season.

The top receiver for the Weevils is Isaiah Cross who ranks fifth in the GAC in both receiving yards per game and receptions per contest, following his single reception, 13 yard game last weekend. UAM sits third in the GAC in scoring points per contest, falling behind Ouachita Baptist University, and sixth in yards with 402 per game.

Defensively, the Weevils are surrendering 34.7 points and 336 yards per contest. The leading tackler for the Weevils is Jekerrias Scott, who is 14th overall in the conference, with 19 total tackles and 10 solo tackles.

"We have a great opportunity here!!," said Head Coach Hud Jackson. "Our players and coaches have worked hard this week to prepare for a good OBU team."

THE MATCHUP
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevil Football team hosts Ouachita Baptist University today for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium, sponsored by Maxwell Hardwood Flooring!

UAM sits behind in the all-time series, 33-40 against Ouachita Baptist University since 1946, but the teams first met over 100 years ago in 1914. The Weevils are 5-5 against the Bulldogs at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium since the turn on the century. UAM looks to take down the Tigers for the first time since the 2016 season.

LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost on the road to the Tigers in 2022 with a final score of 41-7. The Weevils had 273 total yards on offense and a single rushing touchdown. Quarterback Demilon Brown passed for 39 yards and rushed for 72. Caleb Jacobs led the Weevil receiving core as he pulled in two passes for 20 yards.

ON-FIELD ACCESS
Authorized UAM personnel and stand-by medical staff are the only ones with on-field access during the Weevil Football games. All other unauthorized personnel are required to stay within the stands. The following are prohibited at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium:

RESTROOMS
Restrooms for all fans are on the opposite side of the UAM Indoor Practice Facility as the field. There are also portable bathrooms available behind the UAM student-section on the south side of the home stands.
