MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Football team will host Southern Arkansas University this Saturday at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium for the 2024 Senior Day / Agriculture Day Game, sponsored by AGUP, BASF, and Mid-South Seed. The game will be the 99th annual Battle of the Timberlands.
"Big game this week against SAU, it's a trophy game," said Head Coach
Hud Jackson.
"We know the importance of what it means for our program. Our players understand that we have to play four quarters of disciplined football to be able to have a chance against a good SAU team. Our guys are looking forward to the challenge. Eat'em Up!"

THE MATCHUP
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Football team is hosting Southern Arkansas University for the 46th time in program history. The teams have met 98 times since 1913, with their first meeting in Magnolia, AR. The result was a 26-0 win for the Weevils.
LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost to Southern Arkansas, away in 2023. The Boll Weevils tabbed 291 yards of total offense, recording two touchdowns in that contest.
Caden Middleton led the air attack, connecting with 12-23 attempts for 130 yards.
Gary Ferman led the team on the ground, rushing for a net of 35 yards in the contest, with a long of 28 yards.
All-TIME SERIES
UAM trails in the all-time series, 39-58-1, with the last win for the Boll Weevils in 2021. Monticello is 17-30 away against Southern Arkansas, with the last win being a score of 73-37 in 2021. The largest margin of victory for the Weevils came during the 1924 season with a 46-0 win. The Weevils average 18.06 points against the Mule Riders.

The Boll Weevils are currently sitting 4-6, following an away loss to Southern Nazarene in week 10. Monticello sits seventh in the GAC in scoring and seventh in total offense, averaging 18.3 points per contest and 310.9 yards per game. The Boll Weevils land sixth in the conference in rushing, posting 1292 total yards and averaging 143.6 on the ground per game. Defensively, UAM ranks seventh in total defense, surrendering 375.9 yards per contest, and eighth in scoring defense, allowing 31.5 points per game. Offensively, Quarterback
Demilon Brown leads the running game, averaging 60.5 yards a contest.
Isaiah Cross is the fifth-ranked target in the GAC, totaling 452 yards on 38 receptions for an average of 45.2 yards per game.

WALK OF CHAMPIONS
Weevil Football's traditional 'Walk of Champions' will be held two and a half hours before kick-off. The Boll Weevils will travel down Tailgate Row, along with the UAM cheer team and band, approaching Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium.
Fans are encouraged to cheer on the team, but not to interrupt the event.

ON-FIELD ACCESS
Authorized UAM personnel and stand-by medical staff are the only ones with on-field access during the Weevil Football games. All other unauthorized personnel are required to stay within the stands. The following are prohibited at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium:

RESTROOMS
Restrooms for all fans are on the opposite side of the UAM Indoor Practice Facility as the field. There are also portable bathrooms behind the UAM student section on the south side of the home stands.
