Week 4 Preview: Weevils Travel to Ouachita Baptist

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas this weekend to take on Ouachita Baptist University for week four of the 2024 season.
 
The Boll Weevils are coming off a frustrating 63-3 loss to the defending National Champions at Harding University. The loss drops the Boll Weevils to a 2-1 record for the third straight season. The Boll Weevils look to bounce back as they travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to take on the Tigers.

"This will be a really tough game that our players are looking forward to competing in," said Head Coach Hud Jackson"Ouachita Baptist is a very good team, well coached and disciplined. We will have to take advantage the opportunities that we get so that we can be in the game late. Our players are ready to bounce back and show that we can compete in this league week in and week out. Eat 'em up."

THE MATCHUP
The University of Arkansas at Monticello Football team is on the road in Arkadelphia to face Ouachita Baptist University. The Weevils are 2-1 after week three, taking the first loss of the season at Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium to the reigning National Champion, Harding University.
 
LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost to Ouachita 45-25 at home in 2023. The Boll Weevils posted 452 yards of total offense with four touchdowns scored. They trailed the Tiger offense by only recording 34 yards. Demilon Brown led the air attack, throwing 247 yards and connecting for one passing touchdown in the game. Brown also rushed for two touchdowns, gathering 154 total net yards.

All-TIME SERIES
UAM trails in the all-time series, 37-49-1, with the last 12 match-ups between the two resulting in one win for the Weevils, and 11 victories for the Tigers. The Boll Weevils are 15-27 on the road against Ouachita, with the last win in Arkadelphia coming in 2010 on a 37-31 victory. The largest margin of victory for the Weevils came during the 1929 season with a 41-0 win. The two first met in 1913, when UAM reigned victorious in a 28-0 shutout. The Weevils average 16.23 points against the Bisons.
