Weevils Come Up Short in Arkadelphia

UAM Football Dropped their Week Four Match-Up with Ouachita Baptist, 49-14

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team traveled to Arkadelphia on Thursday evening. The Boll Weevils took on fellow GAC member Ouachita Baptist University for their week four match-up of the 2024 season. The contest concluded with a 49-14 loss for UAM.

Senior quarterback Demilon Brown gave UAM a 21-27 performance with 213 passing yards. Isaiah Cross was the leading receiver in the game, grabbing three receptions for 97 total yards, with the longest being a 52-yard touchdown. On the ground, Tyler Reed led the Boll Weevils with 9 carries for 23 net yards.

Defensively, Taylor Collins stood above the rest, grabbing seven total tackles, with six solo stops on the night.

Dylan Duhon led the day on special teams, going 2-2 on PATs.

Post Game
Boll Weevil Head Coach Hud Jackson had this to say after the game: "Again, we have to take advantage of opportunities. Giving up 14 points with a blocked punt and fumble hurt us. OBU is a good football team that doesn't make many mistakes, but when they do, we have to take advantage of that. Third down was the key. We forced them to third down 14 times. The most anyone has done this year. They converted 11, which was the game changer. Offensively, we have to be more consistent in the run game. We will make corrections and be ready for ECU next week. Eat 'em up!"
