MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello football team travels to Durant, Oklahoma, this week to take on Southeastern Oklahoma State University in the 2025 season opener. The campaign will mark the 112th season of program history.
Coming off a 54-22 loss at home to school rival Southern Arkansas in the 99th annual Battle of the Timberlands to conclude the 2024 season, the Weevils are hungry for a fresh start and new beginnings as they look towards the upcoming opener with the Savage Storm.
The 2025 season will be the 14th season under the helm of Head Coach
Hud Jackson, who first led UAM in the 2011 season, which marked the program's first year in the Great American Conference.
"We're looking forward to going up against somebody else besides ourselves," said veteran Head Coach

"Fall camp, along with off-season, was very physical, and it's now time to turn the page. We're looking forward to the opportunity against Southeast Oklahoma. We realize they're a good football team, and we're gonna have to play Quality football to have an opportunity to win. PRESEASON NOTES
The Boll Weevils return 13 letters from the 2024 season, where the team concluded the year with a 4-7 record. Among the returning letters are eight one-year lettermen, four two-year lettermen, and one three-year letter. The team's 132-man roster breaks down to 23 offensive linemen, 23 wide receivers, 20 defensive backs, 20 defensive linemen, 16 linebackers, nine running backs, six quarterbacks, six kickers, four tight ends, three long snappers, and two utility athletes.
LAST MEETING
Arkansas-Monticello lost to Southeastern 0-27 at home in the 2024 Homecoming Game. The Boll Weevils posted 336 yards of total offense in the contest. Senior quarterback
Demilon Brown led the air attack, connecting with eight different receivers on 19 total completions for 131 passing yards. Brown also led the rushing game with 98 total net yards on 18 attempts, averaging 5.4 yards per carry and a long of 15. The UAM defense was led by
Ervin Jones and
Robert Iverson Jr., who saw a combined 22 total tackles. Jones grabbed 12 total with seven assisted tackles and five solo, while Iverson Jr. grabbed six solo and four assists with one sack for a loss of a single yard.
All-TIME SERIES
UAM trails the all-time series, 4-10, with the last win for the Boll Weevils in 2019. The away contest concluded with a 9-7 win, marking the program's only road win over the Storm in the Division 2 era. The largest margin of victory for the Weevils came during the 1979 season with a 41-7 win, which was the first meeting between the two schools and the only other victory in Durant for Arkansas-Monticello. The Weevils average 22.07 points against the Savage Storm.
