EL DORADO, Ark. - Arkansas-Monticello's Weevils golf team opened the 2026 Arkansas Collegiate tournament, hosted by Southern Arkansas University, on Monday afternoon in El Dorado, Arkansas. The Weevils combined for a two-round total of 655 (+79) at the Mystic Creek Golf Club to finish in 13th.
Blayden Gillham led on the day, penciling in the first round, 5-over par (77), followed by a 6-over par (78) in the second round to tie for 9th overall, 155 (+11).
Carson Slaughter fired a 78 (+6) in round one, followed by an 85 (+13) in round two, closing out the day tied for 40th, 163 (+19).
Landry Rogers fired a 14-over par (86) in the first round of the tournament, followed by a 10-over par (82) in round two, closing out the first two rounds with a score of 168 (+24), to tie for 62nd overall.
Daniel Taylor opened the Arkansas Collegiate with a round one pencil of 10-over par (82), and a second round carding of 16-over par (88), to finish day one in 70th place, 170 (+26)
James Fuhrer closed out the day for the Weevils, carding an 89 (+17) in the opening round, followed by a 15-over par (87) in the second, placing 76th for the day, 176 (+32).
The Weevils combined for eight birdies on the day.

The Weevils will return to the links on tomorrow, March 24, at the Mystic Creek Golf Club for the third and final round of the tournament.
