MONTICELLO, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello women's cross country will welcome Michigan native Laura Jonas to the team for the 2026 season, as announced Tuesday by head coach Peyton Higgins.
 
"I am very excited to have Laura join the team," said coach Higgins. "She is my first recruit since joining the program, and she is a very strong prospect, who I expect to be very competitive in the GAC. She is the type of recruit you want when building a young program."
 
Jonas joins the Blossoms in the fall and will compete for UAM throughout the semester. She comes to Monticello from Novi, Michigan, where she graduated from Novi High School. Jonas holds a 5K personal record time of 19:15, a two-mile time of 11:42, and a 1500 meter record of 5:13.
