MONTICELLO, Ark. -- The University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletics Department is excited to welcome fans for tailgating during the 2026 football season. The Weevils are back in action next week, hosting the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State for the season opener. UAM Athletics is excited for fans to return to tailgate row supporting the Boll Weevils!

Tailgating has been a massive part of Weevil Football history and is a tradition we hope to continue on game days. From the Walk of Champions to the Homecoming parade, UAM is overjoyed for the new year and look forward to Boll Weevil fans making the trip to campus.

Please see below for information on tailgating guidelines.

Hours of Operation
    - Tailgaters are allowed to set up at two separate times: from 4-6 p.m. the night before a game and beginning at 7 a.m. on game day.
    - The stadium lot opens four hours before kickoff. After the game, tailgaters have one hour to depart Tailgate Row.
    - Tailgating spaces must be cleaned and fully vacated following the end of the game.

Tailgate Expectations
    - Tailgating is not permitted outside of the designated tailgating area as indicated and directed by Campus Police. For reference, Tailgate Row is located across from Weevil Pond on the east side of campus.
    - The preparation and consumption of food is limited to personal use.
    - All guests are responsible for properly disposing of trash into the proper receptacles.
    - The consumption and possession of alcohol or tobacco is NOT permitted on campus.
    - Guests are allowed to play music at a reasonable volume; no bands/live music are permitted.
    - Unruly or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and is subject to UAM policies and local/state/federal law. Visitors are expected to be respectful of all those associated with the event, including participants, coaches, officials, administrators, and other fans. Racial, sexist, homophobic, or other derogatory comments, including profanity, or other intimidating actions will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from campus.

Prohibited Items
    - Bonfires, campfires, open flames, oil-based cooking or frying, and other heating devices
    - Firearms are fully prohibited at all UAM sporting events. (Regardless of license held)
    - Drones, kites, or other remote-controlled or tethered flying objects
    - As a reminder, no outside food and/or beverages are allowed inside the stadium once tailgating has concluded

Walk of Champions
    - Weevil Football's traditional 'Walk of Champions' will be held two hours and 20 minutes before kick-off. The Boll Weevils will travel down tailgate row, along with the UAM cheer team and band, approaching Willis "Convoy" Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium.
    - Fans are encouraged to cheer on the team, but not to interrupt the event.

Game Recaps
After the conclusion of each game, Weevil Football will have a release posted to uamsports.com, which will give a recap of the game. They can be found on the schedule page as a clickable link after the end of each game, or on UAM Sports social media accounts.
