TULSA, Okla. - Arkansas-Monticello's Men's Golf team closed out the final day of the NSU Men's Golf Classic in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Tuesday afternoon. The Weevils finished the final round of the tournament with a combined score of 292 (+8), helping them place tied for 8th overall with a three-round combined score of 873 (+21).
Northeastern State took home the title with a final team score of
8-under par (844). The Boll Weevils were the
fourth-best-finishing team among Great American Conference members competing in the tournament.
Junior
Holtz Helms led the Boll Weevils, finishing the tournament tied for
7th place at 2-under par after shooting a
72 (+1) in the final round.
Junior Landry Rogers closed out the tournament tied for 20th place at 3-over par after firing an even-par 71 (E) in round three.
Junior Carson Slaughter finished the tournament tied for 24th place at 4-over par after posting a 75 (+4) in his final round.
Incoming freshman Rhett Clanton finished the tournament in 64th place at 16-over par after shooting a 74 (+3) in round three.
Senior Connor Denson rounded out the Boll Weevils in 75th place at 27-over par after posting an 83 (+12) in his final round.
NEXT TIME ON THE LINKS: The Weevils head to the Hot Springs Country Club (Arlington Course) in Hot Springs, Arkansas, for the 10th Annual Battle of the Belt hosted by Henderson State University. The opening round of the tournament tees off on Monday, Sept. 28.
