HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Arkansas-Monticello's men's golf team closed out the 10th Annual Battle for the Belt on Tuesday afternoon in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Weevils finished the tournament in
fifth place with a three-round combined score of
892 (+28).
Northeastern Oklahoma State took home the title with a final team score of 4
-under par (859). The Boll Weevils were the
fifth-best-finishing team among Great American Conference members competing in the tournament.
Landry Rogers led the Boll Weevils, closing out the tournament tied for 2nd after shooting a 74 (+2) in round three, finishing with a three-round total of 214.
Rhett Clanton finished the tournament tied for 29th after posting a 76 (+4) in the final round, concluding the tournament with a three-round total of 228.
Carson Slaughter also finished tied for 29th, shooting a 78 (+6) in round three to finish the tournament with a three-round total of 228.
Holtz Helms closed out the tournament tied for 34th after firing a 74 (+2) in the final round, finishing with a three-round total of 229.
Connor Denson finished tied for 48th after carding a 79 (+7) in round three, concluding the tournament with a three-round total of 251.
Luke Riney, competing as an individual, rounded out the UAM competitors in 57th place after shooting an 81 (+9) in the final round, finishing with a three-round total of 248.
