Gavin Burford enters his second season at Arkansas Monticello in 2025, serving as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach.
Burford finished his season at Coastal Carolina as the defensive line graduate assistant in 2023. The Chanticleers ranked 15th nationally in defensive touchdowns, 19th in interceptions, 20th in turnovers forced, and 24th in red zone defense. Coastal ended the season going 8-5, winning the Hawaii Bowl versus San Jose State.
Before Coastal Carolina, Burford spent the 2022 season as an assistant coach at the University of West Florida, serving as a defensive line coach. The Argonauts finished the season going 12-2, winning the Gulf South Conference.
Burford served as a linebacker graduate assistant coach at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, from 2020-2021. He mentored a pair of All-American selections who helped the Crusaders win an NCAA National Championship (15-0).
The Lewisville, Texas native graduated from Abilene Christian in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. From 2014-2017, Burford played Inside Linebacker at Abilene Christian.
Burford played Inside Linebacker for West Florida in 2018, where he became the first Linebacker to receive 1st Team All-Conference honors (GSC).
