University of Arkansas at Monticello Athletics

Marcus Hill enters his tenth overall season with the Boll Weevils and his fifth as the Offensive Line Coach and NFL Liaison, after spending five years as the Defensive Line Coach and NFL Liaison.

Hill was hired as UAM's Defensive Line Coach and Pro Scout Liaison in January of 2011 after a five-year semi-professional playing career, and two other coaching stops. He was a four-year letterman for the Boll Weevils from 1999-2002.

He coached All-American Calvin Ursin, who led the UAM Defense in total sacks, and was top-three in tackles-for-loss in the Great American Conference. The Weevil Defense finished fourth in total defense in the GAC in 2012 and ranked 10th in tackles-for-loss in the NCAA. In 2017, Hill’s offensive line finished first in the NCAA in sacks against. Hill has also coached numerous All-Conference selections for the Weevils.

The 38-year-old Pine Bluff, Arkansas native spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Jackson State University before returning to Monticello. He was in charge of coaching the offensive line and tight ends. He also mentored All-American tight end, Renty Rollins, who finished his junior year with 39 catches.

After graduating from UAM in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Hill played semi-professional football for the Arkansas Rhinos from 2004-08, and then entered the coaching profession as a Graduate Assistant at Gulf South Conference member, Arkansas Tech. There, he coached the defensive line and later moved from the defensive side of the ball to coach the offensive line and tight ends for the Wonder Boys.

In 2008, Hill earned a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. He and his wife Felicia, have a beautiful daughter, Zariah (13).
