Becky Phillips became UAM's Faculty Athletic Representative in the Fall of 2014.
Phillips, an assistant professor for the UAM School of Business, began teaching at UAM in 2007 after serving as a certified public accountant and chartered global manufacturing accountant for PE Barnes Lumber Company in Hamburg and Maxwell Hardwood Flooring in Monticello.
Phillips is currently the faculty sponsor for the UAM student-run organization, Institute of Management Accountants, as well as a member of the board of directors for the UAM Sports Association. Her primary duties as UAM’s FAR include ensuring a quality student-athlete experience and well-being, ensuring the academic integrity of the athletics program and ensuring institutional control of the athletics program.
Phillips and her husband, Keith, are avid UAM athletics fans and rarely miss a game. She is a 1989 UAM graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and later earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from UALR in 1999.
