Before he arrived at UAM, Rauso served as an assistant baseball coach at his alma mater, Seton Hill University. During his two seasons with the Griffins, he worked with hitters, catchers, and base runners, and led strength and conditioning for his former team. In his first year as an assistant, the Griffins won the PSAC Western Division title and advanced to the NCAA Atlantic Super Regionals for the second consecutive season, an experience well known to the former Griffin.

From 2021 to 2023, Rauso served as a catcher at Seton Hill, putting up an impressive record in his time in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. In 2023, he was named a PSAC West 1st team all-conference catcher selection, an ABCA 2nd Team all-region catcher choice, the Western Division Athlete of the Week in week 11, and the 2023 PSAC Tournament's most valuable player,

In 2021, Rauso made his first World Series appearance when Seton Hill faced Southern New Hampshire in Cary, North Carolina. He would go on to make two more appearances at the USA Baseball Training Complex, taking on Angelo State and Wingate. That season, he played in 39 games, starting 35, and posted a batting average of .330. Over those 39 games, he recorded eight stolen bases, 36 RBIs, a team-leading 13 doubles, and three home runs. Rauso added two more homers in the postseason, including one during a 3-for-5 performance in an NCAA Regional win over Bloomsburg, and a game-winning three-run shot in the NCAA Regional Semifinal victory against Millersville.

Before his time in Greensburg, Rauso played for the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers. As a freshman in 2019, he started 46 games and led the team with a .379 batting average and 16 doubles. His sophomore season was cut short due to COVID-19, but before that, he played and started nine games, hit .355, and recorded three multi-hit games.

The Pittsburgh, PA native, graduated from Seton Hill University in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a focus in sport performance and injury prevention, and currently resides in Monticello, Arkansas.
