RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team recorded its first win of the 2010 season on Saturday with a 3-0 sweep of East Central University on the second day of Arkansas Tech’s Hampton Inn Classic.
Final game scores were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23. With the win, UAM is now 1-14 overall heading into its final match of the Hampton Inn Classic today at 5 p.m. against Central Oklahoma. East Central drops to 3-15.
Senior Dayna Moyer led all players in the match with 11 kills on 30 attempts, while senior teammate Monica Perkins-Miller added 10 on 29 attempts.
Senior Vikki Crisco aided the UAM offensive attack with 35 assists, while senior Stephanie Hatten paced the defense with 22 digs. Crisco also produced from the back row with 12 digs.
As a team, UAM had 42 kills on 121 attempts with 18 errors for a final .198 hitting percentage. East Central hit .188 as a team with 34 kills on 112 attempts with 13 errors.
Hannah Adams led ECU with eight kills.
