MONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team was swept 3-0 by Arkansas Tech on Tuesday by final game scores of 25-18, 25-11 and 25-17.
With the loss, UAM drops to 3-26 overall and 0-11 in the Gulf South Conference, while Arkansas Tech clinched the GSC-West Division Championship and improved its record to 29-4 overall and 10-1 in the GSC.
As a team, UAM finished the match with an even 20 kills and 20 errors on 93 attempts. Senior Monica Perkins-Miller led her squad with seven kills on 23 attempts with four errors.
Senior Vikki Crisco aided the UAM offensive attack with 18 assists, while senior Stephanie Hatten paced the defense with nine digs.
Arkansas Tech, which hit .258 for the match with 39 kills and 14 errors on 97 attempts, was led by Sarah Von Lienen, who tallied a match-high 11 kills on 18 attempts with only two errors for a final .500 percentage.
The Cotton Blossoms are set to conclude the 2010 season this Friday, November 5 for “Senior Night” against Christian Brothers. First serve is set for 6 p.m. inside Steelman Field House.
