ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Henderson State to begin the Gulf South Conference portion of the 2010 schedule.
The loss drops UAM to 0-11 overall and 0-1 in GSC matches, while the Lady Reddies improve to 9-4 overall and 1-1. Final game scores were 19-25, 19-25 and 13-25.
Sophomore MacKenzie Hubbard paced the UAM offensive attack with nine kills on 19 attacks with three errors for a final .316 hitting percentage. Senior Dayna Moyer was close behind with eight kills.
As a team, UAM combined for 30 kills, but also had 30 errors on 115 total swings for a final .000 hitting percentage.
The Lady Reddies hit .262 as a team and were led by Robin Law’s match-high 14 kills on 48 attempts. Rayla Doty added nine kills.
The Cotton Blossoms continue their GSC schedule with consecutive home matches next week against Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday, September 28 and Southern Arkansas on Thursday, September 30. Both matches are set to get underway at 7 p.m. inside Steelman Fieldhouse.
