DENTON, Texas – The UAM volleyball team closed out the 2011 Holiday Inn Express & Suites Classic, hosted by Texas Woman’s University.

Game three of the classic set the Cotton Blossoms against Missouri Western. The Griffons took the game in three sets, 19-25, 16-25, and 21-25. UAM hitting percentage was .065 for the game. Amy Kleypas led the attack with nine kills in the game. She also had ten digs to pace the Blossoms on defense.

Game four against Texas A&M-International also went three sets, 17-25, 14-25, and 13-25. The Dust Devils got the win despite a .179 hitting percentage as a team. UAM posted a negative percentage for the second time in the classic with a -.053. Bailie Jedlicka and Kleypas each had six kills to lead the Blossoms. Kleypas again led on defense with seven defensive digs.  Amy Bazemore finished the day with 40 total assists in the two matches.

The Blossoms will be on the road again this coming Tuesday as they travel to Arkadelphia to take on Henderson State to resume GAC play. Game time with the Lady Reddies is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Christina Jacinto was named to the All-Tournament Team. The senior Libero out of San Antonio played four solid games for the Blossoms despite the losses.
