“PINK-OUT” FRIDAY TO SUPPORT CANCER RESEARCH

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The UAM volleyball team will be holding a “Pink-Out” at this Friday’s match.

Players will be wearing pink jerseys to show their support. They are asking all fans in attendance to wear pink or gray to show their support as well. The “Pink-Out” movement in the month of October has always promoted the cause of breast cancer, but this year the Blossoms would like to draw equal attention to brain cancer.

The Blossoms’ outside hitter Alex Zawadzki suffered a personal loss earlier this season. Her mother Debbie was diagnosed, and later succumbed to, Stage 5 Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is a particularly aggressive form of brain cancer, it is also the most common form of brain cancer diagnosed.

Friday’s game is being dedicated to Debbie Zawadzki’s memory. In an effort to raise much needed money for more research into brain cancer the team will be raffling off a signed ball. The special pink and gray ball has been signed by the entire Blossoms’ team. Tickets are $5.00 for a chance to win the drawing. All proceeds from the raffle will go to Voices Against Brain Cancer.

Tickets are available at the volleyball office or directly from players. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN ATTENDANCE FRIDAY TO WIN THE DRAWING, so please help the team raise as much as possible. For more information or to buy tickets, contact Casey Shingler at (870) 460-1358.

Game time for the match is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
