MONTICELLO, Ark. – The UAM women’s volleyball team will play in the inaugural Great American Conference Volleyball Tournament, beginning this Friday.
 
The Blossoms enter the tournament with the eighth seed, so they will meet tournament host Arkansas Tech in “Match C” at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
 
The tournament features the top eight teams in the league based on win-loss percentage in conference matches played during the regular season. The single-elimination tournament, hosted at Arkansas Tech's Tucker Coliseum (3,500), features four quarter-finals matches on Friday, November 11 and a pair of semi-finals matches on Saturday. The inaugural conference tournament champion will be determined in the finals on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
 
All seven matches of the 2011 tournament will be covered live and free of charge by the GAC Sports Network. Each webcast will include views from multiple camera angles, play-by-play and color analysis, and interviews with the league's head coaches and administrators. There will also be live in-game statistics provided courtesy of the Arkansas Tech Athletics Department. Links for these features are listed below and on the volleyball schedule page.
 
The All-Tournament will be announced prior to presentation of the championship trophy on Saturday.
