TECH UPENDS BLOSSOMS IN THREE

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The UAM Volleyball team faced another top GAC team tonight in the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns.

The final score was 0-3, but each set was closely contested right down to the wire. The Suns (13-1, 4-0 GAC) were able to win the points that mattered as each set went down to the wire. The Blossoms (2-9, 0-4 GAC) dropped the first game 17-25 as Tech pulled away mid-way through the set.

Game two was much closer. The two teams battled back-and-forth for every point. The score was tied eleven different times. The Blossoms had the game tied at 19, but were out-scored 6-1 in the final rallies to fall down 0-2 in the match.

Game three played out similarly with the score being tied again at 19 all before the Suns went on a 6-2 run to end the match in three-straight. The Blossoms spread the offense around tonight. Christina Rini and Amy Kleypas led the team with six kills each while Bailie Jedlicka and Amanda Dills each added five. Amy Bazemore had 19 successful sets and Rini added six blocks on the match.

The Blossoms will return to the court tomorrow night as they host the East Central Tigers in a 7:00 PM match at Steelman Field House to close out this three-game home stand.
