MONTICELLO, Ark. - The UAM Cotton Blossoms fell in three-straight tonight to the East Central Tigers.
The first two sets went quickly tonight, 16-25 and 17-25, but Coach Casey Shingler's team did not lay down in the final set. The Blossoms (2-10, 0-5 GAC) tied the score ten different times in the third set, including 24-24.
ECU (5-9, 2-1 GAC) closed out the game on two attacking errors by the Blossoms that allowed the third set, and the match, to go to the Tigers.
Amy Kleypas led the Blossom attack with 15 kills on the night. Amy Bazemore continued her solid setting game with 27 assists across the three sets. Christina Jacinto was the Tigers' favorite target on offense as she dug out 21 defensive digs on the night. Christina Rini and Bailie Jedlicka each posted two blocks for the Blossoms.
The Blossoms will hit the road for six straight, including the Texas Woman's University Tournament in Denton, Texas from September 30 - October 1. First, however, UAM will travel over to Southern Arkansas for a 7:00 PM conference game in Magnolia.
