MONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team posted a season-best .275 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday inside Steelman Fieldhouse.
Final game scores were 25-19, 21-25, 25-15 and 25-16. With the win, UAM improves to 8-15 overall and 4-4 in the Great American Conference, while Southeastern drops to 2-20 and 1-7. The Cotton Blossoms also tied their conference win total from the 2011 season with Saturday’s win over the Savage Storm.

As a team, the Cotton Blossoms collected 57 kills on 138 attempts with 19 errors for its best percentage of the year. The Savage Storm totaled 38 kills on 129 attempts with 22 errors for a .124 percentage.
Individually, senior Amy Kleypas led UAM with 14 kills on 36 attempts with just two errors for a .333 percentage. Junior Victoria Bozzo and senior Tusalava Kuaea also reached double-digits offensively with 10 kills each. Kleypas also led all players with 14 digs for her 10
th double-double of the season.
Juniors Amy Bazmore and Jaclyn Trinque contributed to the UAM offensive attack with 17 assists each.
The Savage Storm was led by Megan Kunkel’s match-high 15 kills on 42 attempts with six errors for a .214 percentage.
The Cotton Blossoms continue their four-match home stand this Tuesday, October 16 against GAC leader Harding. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside Steelman Fieldhouse.
