BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The UAM softball team won two more today in the Five-State Classic at Bentonville.

The Blossoms (6-4) defeated Southwest Baptist University 8-0 in five innings in the day’s first game before shutting out North Alabama 3-0 in the second.

Maggie Sands continued her impressive play in both games with two hits and two runs batted in against Southwest Baptist and one against UNA. Jennifer Hickman also posted two against SBU with a two-run shot in the bottom of the fifth. UAM posted thier eight runs on nine hits with no errors against SBU and got three runs on four hits with no errors against North Alabama.

Katie Slaughter got her third win of the season against SBU, going the full five innnings. Kayla Jackson got the shutout against the Lady Lions in game two in the full seven inning game.

The Blossoms return to action tomorrow as they take on the University of Missouri-St. Louis at 10 a.m. and Missouri S&T at 3 p.m. Both games will again be played at Bentonville High School.
