SOFTBALL GETS TWO MORE IN BENTONVILLE

BENTONVILLE, Ark. –
The UAM softball team won two more game today in the Five-State Classic in Bartlesville.

The Blossoms (8-4) took on Missouri-St. Louis (0-7) in game one at Bentonville High School, defeating the Tritons 4-1.  Jennifer Hickman, Taylor Russell and Beth Johnson each drove in a run. Kayla Jackson got the win in the complete game, giving up one run on five hits with no walks and four strikeouts. Jackson moves to 4-3 on the season.

The Blossoms won their afternoon game 8-4 over Missouri S&T (0-7). Taylor Russell led the team with 4 RBI in the game off two hits in four at-bats. Maggie Sands added a pair on two hits in three plate appearances. Hickman added another RBI while Summer Huddleston drove in a run on her hit.  

Katie Slaughter and Kayla Jackson teamed to finish the second game, with Slaughter getting the win in six innings of work, giving up four runs on four hits with no walks and three strikeouts. Jackson closed the game giving up no runs on no hits with two strikeouts in the seventh.

The Blossoms will wrap up the Five-State Classic with two more games tomorrow. They will take on Missouri Western State at 11 a.m. before closing play with Northwest Missouri State at 2 p.m. Both games will be played at Bentonville High School.
