ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team stepped back into its Great American Conference schedule on Tuesday with a 3-0 loss to Ouachita Baptist on the road.
Final game scores were 25-13, 25-22 and 25-16. With the loss, UAM drops to 3-9 overall and 0-2 in GAC games, while Ouachita Baptist improves to 4-9 overall and 1-1 in the GAC.
As a team, UAM was held to just 21 kills on 111 attempts with 20 errors for a .009 hitting percentage, while the Lady Tigers hit .224 after racking up 43 kills on 116 attempts with 17 errors.
Individually, UAM was led by junior Tusalava Kuaea, who collected six kills on 16 attempts with just two errors for a .250 percentage. Junior Holly Schweigert followed closely behind with five kills on 15 attempts with three errors. Senior Amy Kleypas paced the UAM defense with 12 digs, but was limited to just four kills offensively.
Ouachita’s Faith Avalos led all players with 12 kills on 22 attempts with two errors.
UAM continues GAC play this Thursday on the road against Southern Arkansas. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the W.T. Watson Athletic Center in Magnolia.
