MONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team captured its first three-set win of the season and also recorded its first conference win of the year with a 3-0 victory over Henderson State on Tuesday at home inside Steelman Fieldhouse.
Final game scores were 25-21, 25-20 and 29-27. With the win, UAM improves to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in the GAC, while HSU drops to 3-10 overall and 0-4 in the GAC.

As a team, the Cotton Blossoms totaled 36 kills on 126 attempts with 21 errors for a final .119 hitting percentage. The Lady Reddies also had 36 kills on 122 attempts with 21 errors for a .123 percentage.
Both teams combined for 22 total blocks and 111 digs. UAM had 10 blocks, led by sophomore Christina Rini with four block solos and two block assists. HSU had 12 blocks, led by Jessica Moss’ match-high six block solos.
Offensively, UAM had three players with at least six digs in the win. Senior Amy Kleypas led the way with eight kills on 31 swings with five errors for a .097 percentage. Juniors Victorio Bozzo and Holly Schweigert followed closely with seven and six kills, respectively.
Defensively, senior Allison Beardsley led the team with 16 digs, while Kleypas trailed closely with 14. Juniors Jaclyn Trinque and Amy Bazmore contributed to the UAM offensive attack with 10 assists each.
Henderson State was led by Moss’ match-high 12 kills on 24 attempts with four errors for a .333 percentage.
UAM steps out of GAC play for a 7 p.m. contest on the road against Arkansas-Pine Bluff this Thursday, September 27. The Cotton Blossoms then take a road trip to western Oklahoma to face Northwestern Oklahoma State on Friday and Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday.
