MONTICELLO – The University of Arkansas at Monticello volleyball team goes on the road this weekend with astreak of six victories in the last seven matches to face East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference action.
The Blossoms (11-10, 2-4 GAC) have matched the team's win total from the 2012 season and are coming off a three-set non-conference sweep over Henderson State this past Tuesday night at home. It was UAM's second win over HSU this season.
UAM heads to Ada, Okla. on Friday, October 18 to face East Central for a 7 p.m. start at the Kerr Center. The Lady Tigers are 6-13 overall this season and 3-2 in GAC matches, but are currently suffering through a seven-match losing streak, all seven losses coming via three-set sweeps. Last season, UAM defeated ECU in four sets at home inside Steelman Field House.
On Saturday, the Blossoms head an hour south to face the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant. First serve is set for 2 p.m. Southeastern hosts Southern Arkansas on Friday. The Savage Storm enters the weekend with an 8-11 overall record and a 2-3 mark in GAC matches. Southeastern has lost three straight matches, all sweeps. The Blossoms defeated Southeastern in four sets last season at home.
